States & Resemblance  (2006)

States and Resemblances is a meditation on how things, people and experience pass away; on how it is painful and beautiful and inevitable, and on how this changing/passing itself is the is most binding aspect of our common existence.

The work is performed by actor/photograper/video artist Ryutaro Mishima, Indonesian Traditional Dance and Mask artist Restu Imasari Kusumaningrum, and choreographer/director/video artist Dean Moss. The work incorporates video, song, text and dance all set in a field of dots reminiscent of Yayoi Kusama's “infinity nets”.  The work is dedicated to the memory of “Dicky”, an elderly housemate of Moss, who passed away in his arms.
